Are you a fan of pole dancing? Have you once thought of taking classes? Erica Watson

Some of you may know about Erica Watson and some of you may not be in tune with your funny bones enough to know who she is. For those of you who do not know about Erica Watson let me tell you about her.

I met Erica Watson online looking for Comedy for my husband and I to watch. We wanted to see a comedian we had not already heard the jokes from a million people a million times over, so we searched through youtube and google and Erica Watson came up in the results. http://www.youtube.com/watch#v=yqrmW1-0t6w&feature=related she had me rolling in her stand up at carolines. I disagreed with her having to dis herself to be considered funny but other than that it was funny. My favorite joke how she wanted to be a white woman and how black folks think kissing on the first night was nasty. You have to watch it to laugh because I am no where near as funny as Erica.

I kept digging deeper for more laughs after that, and came across a show she did that i never saw on tv called “Oh no she didn’t” I loved that show and wanted to see more. unfortunately the producers or others involved didn’t see eye to eye with me. For some reason I can not find any links of those video’s anymore. So coincidently I was working on the next issue of Solid Women’s Magazine and asked Erica would she be apart of our next issue and she humbly accepted the request. So I followed the requirements, and part of the requirements is to blog it. I must admit i don’t blog much because I don’t know where to begin. Yet I am reluctant to admit that even if I don’t win the tickets I am glad I blogged it because now I am over my fear of blogging thanks to Erica Watson; my inspiration for blogging today. Finally I see blogging and not such a tedious task.

20th Anniversary Celebrating Miss Full Figured Pageant

It’s competition/pageant season!

This was the Grand Prix of Pageants!

The Ms. Full-Figured USA Pageant, celebrated its 20th anniversary with this 2009 pageant; which is a wildly popular franchise in the plus-size arena.

The exclusive, unheard-of component for this year’s pageant was the crowning of the Ultimate Beauty Queen, from among six former pageant winners. These queens from various earlier pageants competed against one another for the ultimate victory — Ultimate Beauty Queen. This was the spectacle of all spectacles, from ladies who’ve already proven that they know how to compete! Also, ten lovely contestants, most of whom have competed before, competed for Ms. Full-Figured USA 2009. As with the Ultimate Beauty Queen winner, this winner received $1,000 in cash and a spectacular crown. They competed in Daywear, Evening Wear and did a Question & Answer segment.

The evening also featured a performance by R&B songstress Miki Howard (“Love Under New Management,” “Baby Be Mine,” “Come Share My Love”). The panel of judges included Queen Latifah’s father, Lance Owens; winner of VH-1 reality competition “Glam God with Vivica A. Fox,” Indashio; fashion designers Douglas Says and Keron; plus size industry entrepreneur Catherine Schuller; and the pageant’s very first winner, Margarita Boyer Michette.
